Deformer Controllerエクスプレッションは、タ−ゲットオブジェクトの位置、スケ−ル、角度の情報を参照して、デフォ−マのパラメ−タを変える。

使用できるデフォ−マは、曲げ、ねじり、剪断、テ−パ−、膨張の5種類で、

このエクスプレッションを曲げデフォ−マに適用した場合、タ−ゲットオブジェクトの位置に応じて、曲げ量と、方向が変化する。

ねじりデフォ−マに適用した場合、タ−ゲットオブジェクトのY軸周りの角度に応じて、ねじり量が変化する。

剪断デフォ−マに適用した場合、タ−ゲットオブジェクトの位置に応じて、剪断量と、方向が変化する。

テ−パ−デフォ−マに適用した場合、タ−ゲットオブジェクトのスケ−ルに応じて、テ−パ−量が変化する。

膨張デフォ−マに適用した場合、タ−ゲットオブジェクトのスケ−ルに応じて、膨張量が変化する。

The Deformer Contoroller expression changes parameters in the deformer, refering to the position, scale, or rotation of target object.

You can use 5 deformers, Bend, Twist, Shear, Taper, Bulge.

And if you apply the expression to the Bned deformer, refering to the position of the target object, the strength and direction are changed.

If you apply to the Twist deformer, refering to the rotation in Y axis of the target object, the strength is changed.

If you apply to the Shear deformer, refering to the position of the target object, the strength and direction are changed.

If you apply to the Taper deformer, refering to the scale of the target object, the strength is changed.

　このル−ラオブジェクトはその位置座標(X, Y, Z)をスプラインオブジェクトの形でシ−ン
中に表示します。あるオブジェクトの位置を調べたり、複雑なガイドラインの位置を表示す
るのに便利です。

　表示はオブジェクトを動かしている途中でもリアルタイムに変更され、またスプラインオブジェクトですから、他のオブジェクトを選択しているときでも読めます。またこのスプラインを押し出しNURBSにすることもできます。

　バージョン4からは、原点に対する位置(グローバルな位置)でなく、親オブジェクトに対する位置(ローカルな位置)を表示するようにしました。また、距離を表示するルーラ(D_Ruler_Origin)も追加しました。

This RulerObject displays its positions (X, Y, Z) as spline primitives in the scene. This
is useful for measuring position of a object, or displaying positions of guide lines.

The display is changing while you drag the object, and you can read it if you are selecting other object because of real spline object. Additionaly you can make Extrude NURBS from the spline.

From version 4, I have changed it to display local position against to the parent object , but global position against to the world origin. And I have added new ruler (D_Ruler_Origin) that displays only distance from the parent object.

Clock Expression
　

　コンピュ−タ-からシステムタイムを取得する関数"GeGetSysTime()"を使って時計を作った。

　秒針と分針は1/60回転刻みで動くが、時針をそのまま読み込んだ数字に直結すると1/12回転になってしまうので、分針の動きを読んで、1/720回転刻みで動くようになっている。

I have made the clock with the function "GeGetSysTime()" that read system time from computer the CINEMA 4D running on.

The second and minute hands rotate every 1/60 unit. But hour hand rotate 1/12, if I connect it directry to the digital number. So I added minute rotation on it, so now it rotate ebery 1/720 unit.

Tank Expressions
　

　

　エクスプレッションを使って戦車を動かした。ホイールやキャタピラはコントローラーに連動していて、地面に対してスリップすることなく動く。このエクスプレッションはもちろん無限軌道を使った全てのモデルに移植できる。

This is Tnak driven by Expressions. All wheels and threads are moved along the main controller, and the tank can move in every speed and every direction, without slip with the ground. Of course you can implement the Expressions to your own model.

To change thread parameters,

1. Prepare your tank body and a piece of the thread.

2. Disable "Edit -> Use Expressions".

3. Adjust "Width of Thread" user data of "Body" obejct to your tank body, in attribute manager.

4. Also adjust "Thread Interval" below by your thread piece size.

5. Modify thread path "path_R and path_L" spline objects to your tank body.

6. Enable "Use Expression", then the XPresso automatically calculates necessary number of threads and put it to "Console" window. So duplicate the thread to the number, and replace current threads to new one.

Note that, keep object order and hierarcy in "body". The threads should be placed just next of "wheel_R or wheel_L".

Note that, if necesary number of threads becomes smaller than current, just remove the un-necessary threads which can not move on path.

エクスプレッションを使ってピストンエンジンのピストンを動かした。このエクスプレッションは、クランクシャフトの回転角度に応じてピストンを上下に動かす。これによって、コンロッドはクランクとピストンの間を一定の間隔でつなぐことができる。

This is a expression to move piston of piston engine. This expression moves the piston up and down according to angle of crank shaft. As a result, the connecting rod can connect the crack and piston keeping constant distance.

このオブジェクトは、Maxon社が開発しているCINEMA 4D R8で動作します。

このカメラオブジェクトにはXPressoが適用してあり、カメラに働く力やダンピン
グを正確に計算することによって自然な動きを表現できます。各パラメータは、
下図のようにオブジェクトのユーザデータを使って指定します。

「View Target」にはカメラが注目するオブジェクトをリンクします。

「Position Target」にはカメラが追従するオブジェクトをリンクします。

「Damping (pos)」はカメラの移動速度の減衰率を表わします。この値が0%の場合、カメラの速度は減衰せず、追従するオブジェクトの周囲を振動します。またこの値が20%の場合、カメラはゆっくりと移動し、オーバーシュートは発生しません。適切な値は5%前後です。

「Damping (rot)」はカメラの回転速度の減衰率を表わします。この値が0%の場合、カメラの回転速度はほとんど減衰せず、注目するオブジェクトの周囲を振動します。またこの値が20%の場合、カメラはゆっくりと回転し、オーバーシュートは発生しません。適切な値は5%前後です。

「Force」はカメラに働く力の係数を表わします。カメラに働く力は、追従するオブジェクトとの距離とこの係数に比例します。この値が0%の場合、カメラは全く移動しません。またこの値が20%の場合、カメラは素早く移動します。適切な値は12%前後です。

「Torqe」はカメラに働くトルク（力のモーメント）の係数を表わします。カメラに働くトルクは、注目するオブジェクトとの角度とこの係数に比例します。この値が0%の場合、カメラは全く回転しません。またこの値が20%の場合、カメラは素早く回転します。適切な値は12%前後です。

「Flying_Position」は追従するオブジェクトに対するカメラのオフセットを表わします。一般的に、View TargetとPosition Targetに同じオブジェクトを指定すると、カメラがオブジェクトに近寄り過ぎて見えなくなる場合があります。Flying_Positionの値を適切に指定しておくと、この問題を解決できます。

このオブジェクトを「library/objects」フォルダにコピーしておくと、「オブジェクト/オブジェクトライブラリ」メニューからすぐに呼びだせるようになります。

This object requires Maxon's CINEMA 4D R8 or later.

This Camera object has a XPresso expression which calcurates forces and dampings on the camera to get natural motion. You can control parameters from User Datas as top picture.

"View Target" is linked to pointed obejct from the camera.

"Position Target" is linked to traced obejct from the camera.

"Damping (pos)" is damping rate of camera motion. If the value is 0%, the motion is not decreased and the camera will go and back around the target. Or if 20%, the motion becomes slower, and there is no overshoot. Recommended value is 5%.

"Damping (rot)" is damping rate of camera rotation. If the value is 0%, the rotation is not decreased and the camera will go and back around the target. Or if 20%, the rotation becomes slower, and there is no overshoot. Recommended value is 5%.

"Force" is rate for force which moves the camera. The force is proportional to distance to the target and this rate. If the value is 0%, the camera can not move. Or if 20%, the camera will move quickly. Recommended value is 12%.

"Torqe" is rate for moment which rotates the camera. The torqe is proportional to angle to the target and this rate. If the value is 0%, the camera can not rotate. Or if 20%, the camera will rotate quickly. Recommended value is 12%.

"Flying_Position" is camera offset from the target. Generally speaking, when you are using one target object for both view and position, sometimes the camera catch up with the target and can not see it well. You can prevent the problem by the option with proper offset value.

If you copy the Smart Camera to "libraly/object" folder, you can restore it from "Obejct/Object Library" menu at anytime you want.

　MachiningCenterは、Maxon社が開発するCINEMA 4D R8.2以上で動作するXPressoです。MachiningCenterは、ポリゴンオブジェクトを効率よく編集するための機能を提供します。従来これらの機能は「ツール」や「プラグイン」として提供されていたため、いずれにしろ「機能を選択」したり、「実行ボタンを押す」必要がありました。

　しかしながら、ポリゴンモデリングの過程では非常に多くの編集操作が必要になるため、このプロセスを省略できれば作業効率を大きく改善できます。MachiningCenterはこれらのプロセスを省略するため、「XPresso」という形態をとっています。XPressoにすると、エレメント（ポイントやポリゴン）を選択した後や、それらの移動操作中に、コマンドを自動的にくり返し実行できるのです。したがって、機能を選択したり、実行ボタンを押す必要がありません。

　MachiningCenterはXPressoが付加されたオブジェクトですから、働かせるためにはオブジェクトマネージャに置く必要があります。MachiningCenterを「library/object」フォルダの中に保存しておくと、「オブジェクト/オブジェクトライブラリ」メニューから素早く呼び出すことができます。

　MachiningCenterは、オブジェクトマネージャで選択されている最初のポリゴンオブジェクトに働きます。また、MachiningCenterは、ポリゴンのUV座標を適切に更新します。

　MachiningCenterの働きはユーザデータを使ってコントロールします。ユーザデータを常に表示させておくには、属性マネージャにMachiningCenterオブジェクトを表示させ、右上の「新規属性マネージャ」ボタンを押して下さい。

　CINEMA 4D は、Mac版とWindows版でXPressoが実行されるタイミングが異なっています。Macでは、マウスでポイントやポリゴンを選択している時XPressoが停止していますが、Windowsでは選択時にもXPressoが絶えず実行されているのです。
　
　したがって、Mac版（バージョン1.00）では「マウスボタンを押している間は処理を行わず、放した時に1回だけ実行させる」ことができますが、Windows版（バージョン1.21）ではできません。つまり、「マウスボタンを押している間中、実行されっぱなし」になってしまうのです。
　
　そこで、仕方なくWindows版ではメニュープラグインを補助的に追加し、キー操作によってモデリングを実行させるようにしました。このメニュープラグインの名前は「ExecuteTag」で、オブジェクトマネージャの一番上に「MachiningCenter」がある場合に、それを実行します。ExecuteTagは「plugins」フォルダの中にコピーして下さい。ExecuteTagにショートカットを割り当てると、キー操作で素早く実行できます。

　「Weld_at_Center」と「Diagonal」はこのプラグインによる命令を必要とします。「Weld_at_Center2」と「UnTriangulate」、「Optimize」は、Mac版と同様に選択や移動操作だけで実行できます。

　それでは、Machining Centerの働きをコントロールするユーザデータの働きを以下に説明します。

1．STOP
　MachiningCenterの働きを停止します。

2.　Undo
　MachiningCenterの編集操作を取り消します。

3．Weld_at_Center
　このモードは、ポイントモードと選択ツールの組み合わせで使います。
このモードが選択されている場合、複数のポイントを選択し、マウスボタンを放すと、それらのポイントが共通の中心に移動し、同時に結合されます。実行後ポイントの選択が解除されます。

4．UnTriangurate
　このモードは、ポリゴンモードと選択ツールの組み合わせで使います。
　このモードが選択されている場合、2個の三角ポリゴンを選択し、マウスボタンを放すと、自動的に四角ポリゴンに変換されます。実行後ポリゴンの選択が解除されます。

5．Diagonal
　このモードは、ポリゴンモードと選択ツールの組み合わせで使います。
　このモードが選択されている場合、対角線を持った四角形を選択し、マウスボタンを放すと、対角線の位置が反転します。ここで「対角線を持った四角形」とは、つまり三角ポリゴン2個で構成された四角形という意味です。
　四角ポリゴンを選択した場合は、対角線が挿入されます（つまり2個の三角
ポリゴンに分割されます）。実行後ポリゴンの選択が解除されます。

6．Optimize
　このモードは、ポイントスナップを働かせ、ポイントモードと移動ツールの組み合わせで使います。
　このモードが選択されている場合、ポイントを移動して他のポイントにスナップすると、自動的に2個のポイントが結合されます。
　複数のポイントを選択している場合は、何も実行されません。実行後ポイントの選択が解除されます。

The Machining_Center is a XPresso working in the CINEMA 4D R8.2 to 8.5 by MAXON Computer. The Machining_Center offers some functions to model a polygon object easier and faster than ever. Usually such functions were offered as "Tool" or "Plugins", so user had to "Select" it from menu or "Press" buttons.

Also the modering job needs many many steps, then if you can omit the processes "Select" or "Press", you may be able to save much time. To omit such processes, the Machining_Center is made as "XPresso". Because the XPresso is executed automatically through your operation "Select" or "Move" elements. So you need not to "Select" or "Press" it.

Since the Machining_Center is a object with a XPresso, you have to place it to the Object Manager. You can do this easily and quickly by registering it to "library/object" folder. After that you can restore it from "Object/Object Library" menu.

The Machining_Center works to only the first selected polygon object in the Object Manager. Also the Machining_Center updates UV coordinates of the polygon object properly.

You can control the Machining_Center through user data which are displayed in the Attribute Manager. You can lock the AM to show the user data at all time, by pressing "New Attribute Manager" button at top right of it.
The CINEMA 4D executes the XPresso in different timing, if you are using Macintosh or Windows. In the Macintosh the XPresso is not executed while mouse button is pressed, however in the Windows it is continuously executed even if the mouose button is pressed.

Therefore, Macintosh version (1.00) can do that "stop execution while the mouse button is pressed, then execute once after it is released", but Windows version (1.21) can not. The Windows version is continuously executed everytime.

According to the difference, I have added a "Menu Plugin" to help the Machining_Center. With the plugin, you can execute it once by a "Key type". The plugin is named as "ExecuteTag", and it executes the Machining_Center if it is placed at top in the Object Manager. Please install the ExecuteTag to "plugins" folder. Also you can apply a key board shortcut to the ExecuteTag, and call it from a key type.

The "Weld_at_Center" and "Diagonal" need the plugin, however the "Weld_atCenter2", "UnTriangulate" or "Optimize" do not need it and they are executed automatically after your operation, same as Macintosh version.

I will explain user data to control the Machining_Center.

v1.00 for Macintosh version

1. STOP
 Stop Machining_Center.

2. Undo
 Undo Machining_Center.

3. Weld_at_Center
 Please change to "Point" mode, and select "Selection" tool, to use the funtion.
With the function, after you selected some points, and released the mouse button, the points are moved to center position of them, and welded to one point. After execution, the point selection is canceled.

4. UnTriangurate
 Please change to "Polygon" mode, and select "Selection" tool, to use the funtion.
With the function, after you selected 2 triangles, and released the mouse button, the triangles are converted to one quadrangle. Also you can convert 4 or more triangles at one time. After execution, the polygon selection is canceled.

5. Diagonal
 Please change to "Polygon" mode, and select "Selection" tool, to use the funtion.
With the function, after you selected one "4 side" with diagonal, and release the mouse button, the diagonal is flipped to another. Here the "4 side with diagonal" means a "4 side by 2 connected triangles". If you were selected quadrangle (s), they are also converted to 2 pair of triangles. After execution, the polygon selection is canceled.

6. Optimize
 Please change to "Point" mode, and select "Move" tool, to use the funtion.
Before to use it, you need to turn on the "3D snap" function, and select "Point" option. Then after you moved one point, and snapped it to another point, and released the mouse button, the points are welded to one point automatically. If you were selected multiple points, nothing may happen. After execution, the point selection is canceled.


v1.21 for Windows version

1. STOP
 Stop Machining_Center.

2. Weld_at_Center
 Please change to "Point" mode, and select "Selection" tool, to use the funtion.
With the function, after you selected some points, and call "ExecuteTag" plugin, the points are moved to center position of them, and welded to one point. After execution, the point selection is canceled.

3. Weld_at_Center2
 This function is almost same as "Weld_at_Center", however it is done automatically after you selected 2 points. You need not to call the ExecuteTag.

4. UnTriangurate
 Please change to "Polygon" mode, and select "Selection" tool, to use the funtion.
With the function, after you selected 2 triangles, the triangles are converted to one quadrangle automatically. After execution, the polygon selection is canceled.

5. Diagonal
 Please change to "Polygon" mode, and select "Selection" tool, to use the funtion.
With the function, after you selected one "4 side" with diagonal, and call "ExecuteTag" plugin, the diagonal is flipped to another. Here the "4 side with diagonal" means a "4 side by 2 connected triangles". If you were selected quadrangle, they are also converted to 2 triangles. After execution, the polygon selection is canceled.

 Please change to "Point" mode, and select "Move" tool, to use the funtion.

The Machining_Center is protected by password which is connected to the serial number of your CINEMA 4D. Before you register it to me, you can use it from 0 AM to 12 AM only, as demo mode. You can not use it any other time.
